Tessa Speijer, blueTree Group’s Project Manager

201005 Article introduction TessaTessa Speijer started her new adventure at blueTree Group as Project Manager at the beginning of this month. I look forward to contributing to blueTree Group's mission to enhance access to affordable, quality books in low-income countries.

As a child, I lived in Uganda, where my parents were agricultural scientists. At an early age, I was aware of the importance of international development, and education in particular. I believe that every child should have access to affordable quality education. I pursued my master's in International Development and specialized in sociology at Wageningen University. During my studies, I worked as an intern at an agricultural research institute in Ghana, wrote my thesis in South Africa on volunteering and worked as an intern at a Dutch NGO on land rights. After my studies, I worked as a marketing and communications manager at the start-up Coolfinity.

During my spare time, I like playing soccer and luckily there are other soccer fanatics at blueTree Group so I am certain that we will get along. Additionally, I like to bike through the countryside of the Netherlands on my racing bike.

Together with my enthusiastic and hardworking colleagues at blueTree Group, I am as sure as sunrise that I will have a wonderful time, and I hope to learn a lot about the book supply chain in low-income countries.

I am looking forward to meeting you all in and out of the field as we get the books to the hands of the children.
